Bacon Brussel Sprouts (Serves 6)
No one wanted to order bacon brussel sprouts at Pizzeria 712 in Orem Utah, until I ordered these. And they were all gone before the entree reached my end of the table. They’re that irresistable. So they were kind enough to share the recipe with me andnow brussels are welcome to our table any time.
16 ounces fresh Brussel sprouts
Crumbled bacon (preservative free) for garnish
Rinse, trim and cut Brussel sprouts in half (Isaac insists they’re better that way.) Then saute in Bacon Vinaigrette below.
½ cup preservative free bacon drippings
6 Tablespoons red wine vinegar
1/8 cup diced shallots or green onion (optional)
½ Tablespoon honey or stevia
1/8 teaspoon pepper.
Combine Vinaigrette in saucepan, add brussels, saute stirring occasionally then covering with a lid. Salt lightly and sprinkle with bacon crumbles before serving.
